Getting Started in SoTL
I have found a reoccurring theme on exploring instructional methods and subsequently, how do we know what might work in our classrooms. Therefore, I would like to share the attached article entitled, "Getting Started in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: A “How to” Guide for Science Academics”. Although the focus is on the sciences, I believe most of the advice is generalizable across disciplines. The one sentence summary of the article follows:
“There are professors on every campus who are looking closely at their students’ learning, redesigning their courses and programs, and coming together to share what they’ve learned with others. Broadly speaking, these are the faculty who are engaged in what is now widely called the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).”
